Minimally invasive spine surgery

Endoscopic surgery for pituitary tumors and other tumors of the skull base is a minimally invasive technique that uses an endoscope (a thin tube with a camera at the end) to access the base of the skull through the nostrils. This technique allows for the precise and safe removal of tumors, such as pituitary adenomas, avoiding large incisions and scars.

Hydrocephalus surgery

Hydrocephalus surgery, in essence, is a surgical intervention that aims to treat excess cerebrospinal fluid in the brain, known as hydrocephalus. This intervention usually involves the placement of a shunt, generally a ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt, which drains excess fluid from the brain into the abdomen, where it is reabsorbed by the body, thus reducing intracranial pressure.

Chiari malformation is a pathology in which brain tissue extends into the spinal canal. This occurs when part of the skull is irregularly shaped or when it is smaller than normal. In this case, the skull exerts pressure on the brain and pushes it downward.
